Lastly I didn't recall you mentioning "dry runs" we always dry run the machine with torch off to make sure we are on the plate, and can look for any torch height potential problems and adjust as needed if it's a critical part. BobCad cost me a pretty penny and you have to be qualified as an airline pilot to post process. I have Autocad 16, BobCad CAD/CAM software, and we still just use a simple CAD program, SheetCam, and Mach3 for easy success.

Was not a fan of free Fusion so we use sheet cam. we cut very nice marine ocean artwork also. on 1/8" we run 40 to 60 ipm depending how intricate the part needs to be, 14 gauge is 60 to 70 ipm. less to clean up as you indicated having to break out the grinder on occasion. my slats are not factory as we have designed "sawtooth" design instead. I use Mach3 with rules for the holes to slow down 25% to increase quality. My speed is slow because in a part the size of a hand I have holes from 1/4" to 3/4" that need to be perfect everytime for clevis pins to tightly drop in. I make superb production parts from 1/4" hot roll plate running 20 ipm with very minimal dross clean up. Your line cut test are a great idea, we only added important hole sizes because of our needs. I then adjusted the setscrews on the gantry tube carrier which stopped the far end wobble and jump. Just my 2cents… Spend the time in the instructions to adjust the gantry for consistent torch height like the instructions state. I've owned my unit for a year and wanted to post some helpful tidbits.
